Facelift Tunisia: What is it?

The facelift Tunisia or also called cervico-facial lift, is the most frequently performed; it is the surgical correction of aging in the neck as well as in the face from the temple region to the jowl region. This intervention makes it possible in particular to restore the oval of the face and the cervico-mental angle. The cervico-facial lift can be carried out as soon as signs of aging appear and a justified request for correction is made.

This procedure can be combined with other facial cosmetic surgery procedures: cosmetic eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) and/or lipomodeling. It can also be supplemented by medical-surgical therapies (laser, dermabrasion, peeling, medical treatment of wrinkles or furrows, botulinum toxin injections). This cosmetic surgery cannot be covered by Health Insurance.

Goal of cervico-facial lift Tunisia

The cervico-facial lift operation aims to treat sagging and sagging of the skin and facial muscles (temples and eyebrows, cheeks, jowls, oval of the face) and neck. The objective of such an intervention is not to change the shape and appearance of the face. On the contrary, the simple restoration of the different anatomical structures of the face and neck (skin, muscle, fat) allows the operated person to regain the appearance that was theirs a few years previously.

Facelift: Before the procedure

A usual pre-operative assessment is carried out in accordance with the instructions. No medication containing aspirin should be taken in the 10 days preceding the procedure. Stopping smoking is strongly recommended, at least one month before and one month after the procedure (tobacco can cause delayed healing). Hair will be washed the day before the procedure and makeup will be carefully removed on the day of the procedure. It is essential to fast (do not eat, drink or smoke) 6 hours before the procedure.

Facelift Tunisia: Before the procedure

The face lift can be performed under general anesthesia or under local anesthesia deepened by tranquilizers administered intravenously (“vigilant” anesthesia). A 24-hour hospitalization is usually necessary. The incision is largely hidden in the hair and around the ear. The intervention lasts approximately 2h30 hours.

facelift: After the procedure

Suction drains are usually placed to reduce the risk of hematoma and removed before your discharge. The dressing is removed the day after the procedure. A lighter dressing will eventually be made. Hospitalization lasts on average one day. It is recommended that someone accompanies you when you return home. Varyingly, the days following a facelift may be present:

  • Facial edema which disappears within the first 2 weeks.
  • Bruising of the face and neck, often asymmetrical for around ten days.
  • An uncomfortable feeling of tension in the face, especially behind the ears.
  • A frequent decrease in sensitivity in the cheeks and neck.

Any intervention may also carry risks of complications. Pain is very rarely observed, which is then relieved by simple analgesic treatments. The threads and staples are removed between the 5th and 15th day.
